Ethiopian Amane Beriso Shankule won the women’s marathon in hot Budapest. She finished in 2:24:23, eleven seconds ahead of defending champion Gotytom Gebreslase. The third Moroccan, Fatima Ezzahra Gardadi, broke the Ethiopian supremacy. The only Czech participant Moira Stewart took a solid 26th place with a performance of 2:34:02.
