Ethical finance, all events sold out at FestiValori and the appointment renewed from 16 to 19 October 2025

MODENA – It ended with all the events sold out the third edition of <a href="https://www.world-today-news.com/solidarity-economy-festivalori-returns-to-modena-meetings-and-insights-dedicated-to-ethical-finance/" title="Solidarity economy, “FestiValori” returns to Modena: meetings and insights dedicated to ethical finance“>FestiValori, the first Italian festival dedicated to ethical finance, organized by Valori.it e Ethical Finance Foundationwhich took place in Modena and which, as soon as it ended, already renews the appointment for next year, from 17 to 19 October 2025. “The festival of ethical finance to read everyday life”, this is the common thread between the meetings of the event, accompanied by the claim “It depends on how you use your money”, a warning that wanted to remind us that finance concerns everyone, because it is precisely finance that takes care of us. 100 guests took part in the festival, including scholars, economic and financial experts, writers, activists, journalists and authoritative personalities who spoke at 15 events including debates and round tables, workshops and training sessions for schools, courses and sustainable lunches , dedicated to ethical finance in various fields, from politics to peace economics, from social to sustainability.

Ethics in finance and its effects on society. The absolute protagonist is ethical finance and its influence on society. We talked about economics and war, the link between cryptocurrencies and politics, peace and inequalities, with a focus on the situation in the Middle East and the particular situation of the Palestinian financial system. There were also moments of exchange and discussion on the safeguarding and protection of the environment with meetings that explored the themes of the circular economy, the climate emergency and the sustainability of food supply chains. And then insights into the third sector, a strategic and important area which, however, today is also touched by crime, the market and politics.

The crucial points that emerged from the meeting. Furthermore, the festival hosted a preview of the 7th Report on ethical finance in Europe, promoted by Ethical Finance Foundationaccording to which it emerged that ethical banks are more committed to providing credit than traditional banks. The latter, however, prefer purely financial activities. Furthermore, ethical banks show on average higher capital solidity parameters. In fact, among the data in the report it emerges that the provision of credit for ethical banks represents almost 70% of their assets compared to 51.6% for traditional banks, many of which are among the”Too big to fail”.

The 30 years of GAS, the Solidarity Purchasing Groups. FestiValori it was also an opportunity to celebrate 30 years of GAS, i Solidarity Purchasing Groups, project that has revolutionized the way of shopping in Italy: one Italian in 10 uses them, for a total of more than six million people: these are the numbers (provided byObservatory for social cohesion and inclusion, KILL) which give us the photograph of the people who, today, in Italy, use them to buy groceries. At the center of the festival is an essential moment of discussion to talk about economic violence: from access to credit and to gender pay gap.

The gender pay gap. A more crucial and timely issue than ever, in light of the latest data emerging from the 2024 Global Report on Gender Disparity World Economic Forumaccording to which Italy is in 111th position, worsening by 7 positions compared to 2023 with a score of 0.608 out of 1 regarding the economic participation of women.

The Festival project. FestiValori it is a project of Valori.it and Fondazione Finanza Etica created with the support of Banca Etica, Etica Sgr, Fondazione di Modena, Coopfond, Bper, Emilbanca, Conad, Coop Alleanza 3.0, WelfareX, Cpl Concordia and Cooperativa Gulliver.
