Ethereum Hacker Behind $625 Million Hack Starts Sending Loot » Crypto Insiders

Last week was in the crypto news to read that the bridge on Ronin Network, on which the well-known blockchain game Axie Infinity is built, has been hacked. As much as $625 million was stolen and the hope that the hacker will return part of it seems to be dwindling by the day. Especially now that the hacker seems to be moving the loot even further away.

Hacker sends ethereum to mixer

De Chinese crypto journalist Colin Wu dropped on that the wallet linked to the hack has started sending the stolen crypto. If we look at the data on the blockchain explorer, we indeed see a large number of transactions from the wallet.

The worrying thing is that the ethereum (ETH) transactions, each worth 100 ETH, are sent to Tornado Cash. This is a so-called mixer that ensures that the traces of transactions on the blockchain are deleted. Regardless, it appears that the hacker has no intention of returning the loot. This would sometimes happen after a deal is closed, but not now.

Ethereum hack went undetected for a long time

Perhaps the weirdest thing about this story, which seems to be turning into the biggest successful crypto hack ever, is that it went undetected for a long time. As early as March 23, the bridge on Ronin Network was cleared. It was then about 173,600 Ethereum and 25.5 million USD Coin (USDC). The team only came into action on March 29.

The crypto industry took action en masse to keep track of transactions. This will make it virtually impossible for the hacker to cash in the stolen ethereum through a major crypto exchange like FTX† Read more about . in this article how the hack could happen.
