Ethereum Drops While XRP and More Prices Rise » Crypto Insiders

Today we see a striking split in the prices on the cryptocurrency market. More than half of the top 100 largest altcoins is in the red this morning compared to 24 hours ago. However, the prices from the green-colored part rise faster than the crypto from the red-colored part fall. Despite this, the total market cap is dropping slightly and is back below $2.4 trillion this morning.

Ethereum (ETH)

Outside a dip yesterday afternoon, seemed ethereum (ETH) recaptured the $4,000 again. The ether price therefore remained above this limit all day. Last night, however, bitcoin fell and then ether pulled back with it. Shortly before midnight, ether was still above USD 4,000 and shortly after midnight the price had fallen to USD 3,920.

Then ether made a bounce back to USD 4,000, but the resistance was now too strong to hold here. For the rest of the night, ether continued to hover around $3,975, but this morning, ether moves lower and briefly touched $3,900. Like bitcoin, ether appears to be stuck in its current range for now.

Top 10 altcoin decliners

Binance coin (BNB) rose again yesterday and peaked around $547 yesterday afternoon. Subsequently, however, the BNB price started to decline and dropped to USD 528 this morning, a decrease of 3.5%. Solana (SOL) has been hovering between USD 175 and USD 185 for a week now. The range seems to be getting smaller and smaller so maybe SOL is about to break out.

Terra (LUNA) reached a new one yesterday morning all-time high (ATH) around $98 and then rose so fast that the price seemed likely to reach $100. However, that $98 was the provisional high and LUNA then corrected hard downwards. LUNA comes in at $85 this morning after falling 13%. Avalanche (AVAX) also fell slightly today. AVAX fell from $124 to $116 yesterday, then made a hefty bounce back to $124, but drops to $119 this morning, dropping out of the top 10 largest crypto again.

Top 10 altcoin risers

Still, several prices in the top 10 largest crypto are colored green today. Ripple (XRP) has been on the rise since last weekend. The price is up more than 20% since then and has risen again by 4% in the past 24 hours. XRP briefly touched above $1 last night, but is falling back to $0.98 this morning.

Cardano (ADA) made another huge jump yesterday morning. The ADA price then shot from $1.30 to $1.36, up 4.6% in less than an hour. Shortly after midnight, ADA had fallen back to $1.32, but then bounced back to $1.35.

Polkadot (DOT) is the strongest riser among the top 10 today. DOT started rising sharply on Monday and has continued to do so for the past 24 hours. There was still a dip in between and this morning DOT is also falling. Yet this morning DOT is 5% in the plus and again enters the top 10 largest crypto.

Top 100 hardest fallers and risers

Although more than half of the top 100 turns red this morning, for most prices that is only a few percent. Terra is the fastest descent today, but kadena (KDA), okb (OKB), harmony (ONE), radix (RDX) and olympus (OHM) are all down more than 5%.

In contrast, the crypto that turn green today are much more positive, including several decentralized finance (DeFi) tokens. Chainlink (LINK), flow (FLOW), tezos (XTZ) and shiba inu (SHIB) are more than 5% in the plus. Celo (CELO), compound (COMP), convex (CVX), uniswap (UNI) and cosmos (ATOM) are about 7 to 9% in the plus. Polygon (MATIC) set another new ATH of $2.70 last night.

Spell token (SPELL) continues to rise, is up 13% today and even 70% compared to a week ago. Aave (AAVE), sushi (SUSHI) and fantom (FTM) are up 15-17% today, but the fastest riser is near (NEAR). Near has been on the rise since Tuesday, and that gain accelerated last night. NEAR is up 31% today and just picked up an ATH of $13.8.
