From the start of the game, those led by Abel Balbo sought to impose their conditions in the game and for this, Benjamin Rollheiser was key. The 10 commanded each of the plays in attack and showed great mobility and participation.
But those commanded by Frank Kudelka did not let the locals impose their conditions and as the minutes passed, they took the ball from him and that is how they took over the time of the game.
The game never got unstuck, as the two teams lacked ideas to arrive clearly and disputed every ball, and fought every meter of the playing field, regardless of the goals.
At minute 28, Tomás Belmonte went on the attack, and from the left of the big area, he filtered, escaped the mark and took a cross. The ball strayed along the way, and slipped over Mariano Andújar. But before he entered, Leandro Díaz went to push her, and she started offside. The VAR analyzed and determined that El Loco interfered and that is why Lanús’s goal was annulled.
With a monotonous game and without ideas, Estudiantes was staying. Over the course of the first half, he lost meters in the rival field and was dispensing with the offense. That helped the rival.
The visit was benefited by his seasoned game and with concentration and drive he was able to go ahead at halftime. A few minutes from the end, Juan Cruz Guasone could not clear his head, after a corner, and left the ball in the big area. Canale appeared, took advantage of the gift and nailed the ball against a post to make it 1 to 0.
At the start of the second half, a few minutes after the game resumed, Abel Balbo got his hands on the team and sent Mauro Méndez onto the pitch, along with José Sosa. Far from being satisfied with what he saw of his team, ten minutes later he brought in Franco Zapiola and did without a central defender. By that time, the visit already had one less due to the expulsion of Leandro Díaz.
As in the first part, the dangerous Pincha arrived with a cross looking for Guido Carrillo. At 23 minutes, Emmanuel Mas reached the bottom and crossed the ball. The forward stepped back and headed, but the goalkeeper Garnet took it out against the post.
Time passed and the Estudiantes game was the same. Without ideas, with no one to take charge of the game, they abused the centers as the only offensive resource and in Lanús they dedicated themselves to defending themselves and clearing each ball that came from above.
At minute 37, and given the impatience of the fans, Zaid Romero appeared in attack, crossed the middle of the field with the ball and from medium distance, tried the goal, with a powerful shot, which Acosta deflected to the corner.
But without offensive ideas and with doubts in defense, Pincha suffered again. A few minutes before the end of the game, Jorge Rodríguez failed in a rebound, and Franco Troyansky took advantage of the gift to declare victory, scoring 2-0 with a cross shot before the departure of Mariano Andújar.
