In the city of Neiva, the 17th edition of the Estrellitas del Deporte football festival ended this weekend, an event organized by the Mis Monachos school. This year, more than 300 students from different institutions participated in this festival.
“We successfully completed the 17th edition of the Estrellitas del Deporte football festival, an event that brought together more than 300 students from different educational institutions and sports schools. Nowadays it is called a festival because we reward all the students, there are no losers,” said Sonia Solado Florez, principal and founder of Mis Monachos College.
“The idea that we have as a school is to encourage healthy sports, so that boys and girls in one way or another see sport as a good way to spend their free time and perhaps some of these boys and girls decide to train football.” and become a professional,” complement.
Aim
On the other hand, Solano stressed that the holding of this festival has two specific objectives. One of them is to encourage sports in boys and girls. And secondly, being able to enjoy a different day in which the parents of the little ones are also involved.
“Boys and girls ages 4, 5 and 10 participated in this festival. We have baby, pony, Sub-5 and juvenile categories. We encourage sports in these children, the important thing for us as an educational institution is to develop all skills: artistic, sports, cultural, etc.”, Solano indicated.
“We chose soccer because it is a sport that attracts the attention of all children. It is a fashionable sport that fortunately has made a very positive inclusion of women, so that motivates us. We see parents gathered, happy about the performance of their sons and daughters, students who want to share with each other. “Our job is to continue betting on other sports,” complement.
The following schools participated in the 17th edition of the Estrellitas del Deporte football festival:
- Anglo-Canadian College

- Colegio GreenHill
- Colegio Mis Monks
- Surnei FC Sports School
- New Generations Sports School
“In this festival we reward the goalkeeper with the least beaten goal and the scorer. The rest of the boys and girls receive a medal and each participating team receives a trophy. “Here, as I mentioned before, we are not interested in competition, we are interested in sharing between children from different educational institutions and promoting sports,” concluded Sonia Solado Flórez, director and founder of the Mis Monachos school.
With the conclusion of the festival in its 17th edition, planning has already begun for the 18th edition in 2024. For next year, participation equal to or greater than that of 2023 is expected.
