A special program, energy, new releases of the Latvian music label “I Love You Records” in CD and LP format, as well as new attributes: all this concerns the concert of the group “Sibyl Vane” scheduled for Saturday 5 November, at the bar ” 1983 “in via Vagonu.
Estonian band “Sibyl Vane” will perform this time in Riga with a program dedicated to the 10th anniversary of their excellent debut album “Love, Holy Water & TV”. However, the most interesting thing about this application is the fact that this year’s group last year will perform in Latvia for the fifth (!) Time already: in mid-May it was at the festival “foRest” and the day after the the club “Depo”, before Jāņim they heated the famous “Placebo” on the stage of the ruins of the castle of Sigulda, but in July presented the album of the concert “Live” on the floating art gallery “Noass”. Even many Latvian teams didn’t play here that often, besides, “Sibyl Vane”, despite frequent appearances, never had to complain about the lack of audience anyway.
The main calling card of Pärnu’s group “Sibyl Vane” (the name would derive from the name of a tragic character in a book by Oscar Wilde) is the energetic singer / guitarist Helen Randlacht, who together with bassist Heiko Läsment also created this training ten years ago – the third has long been around drummer Hendriks Liviks. Stylistically, “Sibyl Vane” has been compared to Pee Gee Harvey and “The Cranberries”, but offers a much more energetic rock sound.
The first two Estonian albums “Love, Holy Water And TV” (2013) and “Sibyl Vane” (2017) were released by the Latvian label “I Love You Records”, so it’s no wonder “Sibyl Vane” appeared in practically everyone At the great Latvian music festivals – “Positivus Festival” (even three times), “Summer Sound” and “Labā Dabā”, they heated the group “Garbage” in the concert hall “Palladium” (in 2012), etc. In July 2020, the third studio album of “Sibyl Vane” “Dutchess” was presented at the concert “Noas”. So they come to us, increasing their followers every time.
