Estonian President Kaljulaida in UN Responses to Women and Children ‘s Rights

Estonian President Kersti Kaljulaida has been appointed a global defender of women’s and children’s rights at the United Nations (UN). This was decided by UN Secretary-General Antoniu Guteresre after a meeting with Kalyulaid in New York.

The President of Estonia is convinced that the well-being of women, children and adolescents and their access to health care, along with the fight against climate change, are the biggest challenges that the countries of the world should face in the coming decades. Kaljulaida was appointed to this newly created position for two years.

During the meeting, Kaljulaida and Gutērres also discussed Estonian Presidency of the UN Security Council.
