Speaking live on the public service broadcaster ERR’s evening news program “Aktuaalne kaamera”, Kallasa said that the reason for the introduction of the new restrictions is the rapid spread of the so-called British coronavirus in Estonia.
“We have decided to close the country as far as possible,” the head of government said.
According to her, educational institutions, including primary schools, will switch to distance learning. This will not be limited to schools for children with special needs.
Parents are also advised not to take their children to kindergarten.
All outlets are also closed, except those that sell basic necessities.
All indoor sports competitions are also prohibited.
