The reserve aims to contribute to achieving the goals of the “sustainable Saudi vision” within the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, which aims to protect and enhance the natural environment in the Kingdom, by adopting a comprehensive vision for the precious ecosystems by preserving the environmental and natural components, re-settling wildlife in every region, and ensuring water balance. And biological diversity, combating the phenomenon of desertification, and sustaining wildlife, as the reserve will contribute to raising the percentage of royal reserves in the Kingdom from 13.5% to 14.9%, to contribute to achieving the goals of the Saudi Green Initiative in protecting 30% of terrestrial and marine areas by 2030 AD, in addition to maximizing the impact on conservation. It focuses on natural ecosystems and biodiversity, restoring them, enhancing heritage, and reviving the history that embodies the antiquity of the areas included in the reserve, as it contains more than 100 heritage villages that reflect the heritage and cultural depth of each region, which contributes to achieving sustainable national economic development and engaging and supporting local communities through creating job opportunities.
