The Federation of Chambers in the country has agreed with the Japan Foreign Trade Authority (JETRO) to sign a memorandum of understanding to establish an Emirati-Japan joint business council during the first quarter of 2023, during the meeting which gathered Humaid Mohammed bin Salem, Secretary General of the Emirates Chambers, with Takahikosawada, Director General of the Japan Cooperation Center for the Middle East, in the presence of Yoshiotanaka, Commercial Director, Nobuyukinakajima, Director General of JETRO Authority in Dubai and the Middle East and North Africa, and Hiroshihasegawa, Special Advisor to the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, Executive Director of JETRO in Dubai.
During the meeting, which was held at the headquarters of the Federation of Chambers in Dubai, bilateral relations between the two countries were discussed and ways to improve them, especially in the commercial field, as well as taking stock of the investment climate in two friendly countries.
They also discussed strengthening the cooperation between entrepreneurs in the two countries, and it was agreed to sign a memorandum of understanding to set up a joint business council between the two countries during the first quarter of 2023, to be the main driver for cooperation between the private sectors of the two countries.
Humaid bin Salem praised the strong relations between the UAE and Japan in various fields, especially trade, stressing that there is a common desire to enhance cooperation between the two countries’ business fields, which leads to encouraging and increasing mutual investment and intra-trade to reach higher levels.
Bin Salem explained that the Emirati Chambers encourage Emirati entrepreneurs to explore the investment climate in Japan, identify available opportunities, and cooperate with their Japanese counterparts in building partnerships and joint alliances, and advocate ways to achieve communication and cooperation between private sector companies in the two countries.
