Establishment of a mixed business council

(Ecofin Agency) – In line with the realization of the ambitions underlying the creation of the African Continental Free Trade Area (ZLECAF), Benin and Algeria are creating a melting pot for its implementation.

A memorandum of understanding was signed on Wednesday June 9, 2021 between the Algerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CACI) and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Benin (CCI Benin) for the creation of the Algerian Business Council -Beninese. This advice is intended to be a melting pot that will open up more investment and business opportunities for economic operators in both countries.

A press release from the Algerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry indicates that this convention is intended to allow ” the strengthening and development of cooperation between Algeria and Benin and the pursuit of the efforts made with a view to consolidating economic diplomacy ».

And already, the parties to the memorandum of understanding invite the economic operators of the two countries to take the necessary steps for the next organization. “Specialized exhibitions of products from the two countries in Algiers and Cotonou”.

The parties also discussed the modalities of developing a framework to allow an ideal implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area beneficial to the two countries.
