The police are warning about a WhatsApp function that could make you an unwanted victim of fraud. According to the police, the action may cause you to become a victim of phishing, scams, or other forms of fraud. What is WhatsApp fraud can be seen in the video above. The function can be disabled through several steps. After opening WhatsApp, go to “Options”, then to “Privacy” and finally go to the “Groups” window. There, tap on “My Contacts” to make sure that only your contacts can invite you to WhatsApp groups.
Two-step verification
In addition to the point to turn off automatic invitations to groups, it is also recommended to enable two-step verification for WhatsApp. You can do this by tapping “Options” at the bottom of WhatsApp. Then select “Account”, then “2-Step Verification” and follow the instructions on the screen.
