Ysaora THIb, French fencer, has seen her life as a champion at a standstill for a year. The health crisis has led many professional athletes to adapt, and to conceive their passion differently. His preparation for the Tokyo Olympics abruptly interrupted, Ysaora THIb looked for a way to highlight these women who inspire him. On July 22, 2020, she created the account Instagram ESSENTISHE, which gives voice to sportswomen, still very poorly represented.
Stories to tell
Three types of content feed into the account: live interviews, stories “Three things you might not know about … » and inspirational quotes. Les posts « Off Duty » also show the tastes and passions of these women outside of sport. In the first season, we find names like Estelle Mossely, boxer; Kristina Mladenovic, tennis player ; or Gwen Berry, American athlete specializing in hammer throwing.
Ysaora THIb launches the second season, March 8, 2021, International Women’s Day, with the first theme « Breaking boundaries » (break down barriers). We learn that only 4% of sports media are dedicated to women’s sport.
