On Thursday, August 1st in the afternoon, the ETS of Chaumont was present in the city.
Blood donation remains essential. However, reserves remain fragile. “Our reserves are correct for the moment, but remain fragile knowing that mobile collections mobilize locals but also people passing through on vacation,” summarized Peggy Ciegler, the doctor responsible for the collection.
Blood donations help meet the needs of patients in the region. This mobilization in favor of an additional collection met with an average turnout and the competition with the Olympic Games and threatening storms certainly played a role: “The arrival of 63 people is however significant, knowing that 57 collections were recorded and two new donors welcomed”, summarized the president of the association, Annie Brugneaux. “The stocks of bags are quite low with only about ten days in advance. It’s all a bonus after the collection in July.” The presence of young people, and a couple certainly on vacation, warmed the hearts of the organizers. The help of half a dozen volunteers from the Association of Blood Donors of Chalindrey-Longeau proved essential as always. A cold snack (tomatoes, eggs, chicken breast, cheese and peach) was served and appreciated.
The next collections are announced for Thursday, October 3 in Chalindrey, from 1:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., then Friday, October 4, in Longeau, from 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
