Thus, the group will go through Cerati’s second solo album from end to end after the separation of Soda Stereo, which Gustavo himself considered his “first serious step in a solo career”. Between rock, electronica and psychedelia, and with links to Focus, The Spencer Davis Group, Moby and the Electric Light Orchestra, Puff It is a masterpiece made up of fifteen songs. The concert will also be broadcast live on Sonido Cultura radio.

Aristimuño is considered one of the most original artists on the national scene. Born in Viedma and traversed by the Patagonian scenery, the river, the sea and the winds are the axes of his lyrics. In his work he fuses electronic sounds, acoustic instruments, programming and string arrangements, since he released his first album Turquoise Blues (2004, The Light Years Records).

Owner of a moving sweetness, in his live performances Aristimuño usually gives a new and greater sound to the songs. Surely his interpretations of Cerati’s themes will not be the exception.

—This is not the first time that you will do versions of Cerati, how did the proposal for the recital come about?
Gustavo Cerati was always in my repertoire since I started playing and singing. It was and is a very important influence on my songs and my records. The proposal came from the organizers of this cycle that the Cultural Center has been doing, which is “Essential Records”. I received this call with great happiness, honor and, above all, with great respect and commitment.

-Why did you choose? Puff? Do you feel any identification with the moment Cerati was going through when he edited it?
—The departure of Puff in 1999 was key for me. I was in the South at the time, starting to record my demos on a cassette recorder. When I bought this CD and put “play” on it, I felt a gigantic opening in my mind and heart, I was frozen with a smile from ear to ear. I felt that I had never heard a record like this made by a Latin American artist, as if the sound future had arrived in my ears and it gave me the guarantee that electronic music could be mixed with songs… and making them sound that way, identified me and influenced the use of environments, sounds and textures.

—The tributes to Charly García and León Gieco at the Kirchner, the series on Fito Páez, the 30th anniversary of Divididos, the biopics project on Luca Prodan, do you feel that you are part of a movement to recognize the origins of Argentine rock?
—I consider myself an admirer of our Argentine music. I learned to sing and play instruments by taking songs from all of them since I started with a cover band in Viedma. They are my teachers and I think that with my records I thank each one for their influence and their flight. These artists and many more have given me the strength and love to compose and make a living from music.

—What expectations do you have about this concert?
—Lots! I am fully grateful for having been summoned with this album, which is one of the most important of my life. Love, respect and emotion will not be lacking… We have rehearsed a lot with a band of incredible musicians excellently summoned for this occasion and who feel the same love as I do for Cerati and, in particular, for this essential and fundamental album for our music.
