The EsSalud Huancavelica Healthcare Network has a state-of-the-art 3D mammography equipment unique in the region that allows the timely and effective detection of breast cancer cases for the benefit of its users.
It is a digital mammograph model AMULET innovation in the Fujiflim brand, acquired through public bidding by the Network, which was installed in Hospital II in Huancavelica.
This device valued at 938,128 soles facilitates taking the sample in a more detailed and comprehensive way, yielding more images of the breast.
The equipment also allows 3D mammograms (tomosynthesis) to be performed, providing an early diagnosis of the oncological picture that occurs, in most cases, in women over 40 years of age.
The director of the EsSalud Huancavelica Assistance Network, Mavet Cuellar Huaman, highlighted the purchase of the mammogram that will allow the insured to have more accurate and effective results for a timely treatment of breast cancer.
For his part, the Head of the Department of Diagnostic Assistance, Yamil Cabrera Villacriz, recommended that all women over 40 have a mammogram at least once a year in order to obtain an early detection of breast cancer.
On average, Huancavelica Hospital II performed 3 to 4 scans per day, benefiting about 80 patients per month.
