Espirdo will once again bring together plastic artists and photographers in a new edition of ‘Art in Nature’an annual initiative in which the countryside is the setting and object of study for the artists who will meet in the town on August 6.

From ten in the morning until six in the afternoon, the plastic artists will use the straw packages distributed around the threshing floor, as a canvas, to portray nature, the environment and rural habits, while the photographers registered will not let their objectives lose sight of the most artistic, endearing or significant moments of the day, before giving way to the final exhibition of the canvases and the verdict of the jury.

‘Art in Nature’ has promotion of Spirdo Town Hall and the Segovia Provincial Councilwhich contributes 6,000 euros to the event, in addition to a collaboration with Alimentos de Segovia, since “Both the winners and the jury will be able to taste the best products from the Segovian pantry”explained the deputy for Employment, Provincial Promotion and Sustainability, Naomi Otero.

The winners of the three plastic arts categories will receive a first prize of 650 euros, a second prize of 400 euros and a third prize of 300 euros. For their part, the three winners of the photographic discipline, which will be announced after a few days of the activity, will be awarded 300, 200 and 150 euros. The registration period has been extended until the participation capacity is completed, and can be done at pEspirdo Town Hall website.

For Noemí Otero, ‘Art in Nature’ has «all the ingredients to once again be a success in terms of participation and public»; an initiative that “has already become a tradition in the town and, in addition, contributes to the dissemination of art and culture, offering a wink and a small light of optimism”, said the mayor of Espirdo, Mary Cuesta.
