ESN and ICT: the most innovative companies

On the occasion of the 4th edition of the Rendez-vous des ESN & ICT, Numeum and KPMG will award no less than 8 trophies to the ESNs and ICTs in the sector. These real references are illustrated in terms of ESG, talent management, innovation in healthcare and even in terms of growth.

The business sector relating to ESNs and ICTs continues to grow. Even as digital transformation is now underway in many industries, companies are maintaining their focus. In fact, innovations remain constant in the field. Sign of the vitality of the sector. To underline this growth, Numeum and KPMG organized the Rendez-vous des ESN & ICT.

The fourth version of this major event brought together all digital and innovation players. Some of the companies present were awarded several trophies relating to entire areas of their activities. Whether it is about highlighting environmental, societal and governance criteria, highlighting their growth or emphasizing talent management, each company has its place.

This is why Numeum wanted to reward no less than 8 companies. To underline their particularly effective or positive action in 4 different areas.

Environment and social at the heart of the issues

In view of recent circumstances, the ecological transition has become central for any organization. A number of companies now devote a significant part of their activities to taking charge of numerous criteria, notably environmental, societal and governance (ESG). Many ESNs and ICTs are therefore making efforts in this area to encourage digital sobriety.

This is the case for example of ICT Niji. Hugues Meili, CEO of Niji, ESG laureate explains : “We are fully-fledged players in the digital transformation of our customers. This support phase is gradual because it begins with upstream awareness-raising, in particular on the impacts. This allows us to obtain a good level of understanding of the issues, in particular in mid-sized companies in the territories in which we are established. Then, when good maturity is reached, two types of offerings illustrate the needs of companies. We adopt a sustainable design approach in order to take into account these ESG criteria without altering the general experience. It is therefore appropriate to speak of digital frugality. We also have a complementary offer from Green IT to integrate new coding methods.«

Reduce the weight of digital

Indeed, the weight of digital in the carbon footprint of a company can be significant (if we add the hardware and servers). Faced with this observation, it is necessary to provide solutions and elements of awareness.

For his part, Jérôme Challo, CSR Manager, Western and Southern Europe Operations of CGI explains that the societal aspect is also major: “ We have deployed, in partnership with the start-up Wenabi, a platform available to all CGI members. Each employee can register. To date, no less than 400 missions have been carried out, with 160 members. This represents more than 1,500 hours given. This is only the beginning since nearly 100 missions are planned or in progress. Everyone can identify a mission in which they wish to participate, which will correspond with their own professional or personal agenda. From school support, to helping people in difficulty, from raising awareness in schools to “cleanwalks”, the missions are numerous and plural.. »

As such, CGI obtains the ESG trophy (environmental, societal and governance criteria) for the ESN category.

ESN and ICT: Attract and retain talent

To maintain its growth and attractiveness, each company must attract and retain its talents within it. Laurent Sicart, Deputy CEO Orange Business Services Explain : ” Attrition is very low within our services, around 7%. We have a strong loyalty factor which reflects the idea that careers are possible through our company or through the entire group. For two years, we have initiated and continued numerous initiatives on the subject such as profit-sharing, profit-sharing, internal mobility within OBS and Orange. We also have a higher training budget than the average for ESNs« .

The company winner of the Talent Management trophy in the mid-market / GEA category specifies: ” Following the health crisis, we carried out a digital integration process in order to better onboard newcomers. This is why we have invested a lot in digital courses and in training plans. OBS has also developed across all regions because it is a strong axis for attracting and retaining talent. The health crisis has accelerated the fact that many employees intend to stay in their regions. This is why we have activities within many cities, including small sizes.« .

Note that the company Harington Technologies was named winner of the Talent Management trophy in the VSE / SME category. Mathilde Girodon, HR Manager of the company, explains: “ The support and personalized follow-up of each of our employees, accompanied by a training plan, is the key to retaining our talents. Listening and responsiveness are the basis of our relations with our employees. »

Innovation in the service of health

A sector set to develop strongly in 2022, Health is essential for the activity of ESNs and ICTs. The market continues to grow strongly, not only at customer demand but also in terms of innovation.

Maguelone Deramoudt, Sales & Marketing Director of Thales Digital Services explains: “ Until now, healthcare innovations in the digital field have mainly focused on supporting healthcare professionals in their profession. Making decisions to go faster and more safely allows them to provide better patient support. New technologies, such as 5G, the miniaturization of components, growing computing power, virtual and augmented reality, whether emerging or already proven in other fields, will inevitably bring a new dimension to health. : that of treating patients and no longer simply helping practitioners. Research laboratories are already on this type of applications. As for example that of putting patients in a simulated situation within the framework of motor and functional re-education by acting on the brain and its perceptions. »

Winner of the ETI / GE health innovation trophy, Thales enables each employee to be an actor in Innovation. ” With the desire to bring out projects aligned with the company’s strategy without hampering sometimes very creative ideas. To do this we rely on a set of processes open to all. But also on tools conducive to generating new ideas. From ideation to authorization to make mistakes, we support employees to help them imagine the solutions of tomorrow. But also to implement them. It is not only a question of financial means but also of integration of methods leading our engineers to ask non-technical questions.“, Adds the manager.

Towards predictive and AI

Identical considerations for very small businesses /SME. Maxime Cariou, CEO d’Aymax Consulting Explain : “Everything leads us to believe that the next evolutions in the field of health will be governed by Predictive and Artificial Intelligence. With Helssy, as with several of our customers in the pharmaceutical or parapharmaceutical industry (in particular Aptar Group or Pharmalys), we have already been able to experiment with various precision technologies. These new approaches can support the businesses thanks to a complementary intelligence dedicated to anticipation. But also support in decision-making. »

The manager adds: ” Today, we celebrate an innovation related to the disciplines of artificial intelligence and automation via the Helssy application: an automatic processing of semantics governed with precision, an interaction adapted to the needs of the medical secretary expressed via intelligent messaging . A plethora of features serving the relationship between practitioners and patients in order to streamline their interactions. This success is justified by the achievement of a 40% reduction in the time spent on administration by practitioners. More and more users. »

Strong growth and resilience for ESNs and ICTs

Digital technology has resisted the recent health crisis. The sector has rebounded to generate new growth. On the balance sheet, the market intends to complete 2021 up 4.8% (or 54.9 billion euros). Analysts initially expected an increase of only one point. Although some sectors have experienced some difficulties, several companies have shown definite growth.

Amadou Ngom, President of Sqorus, Explain : ” We are in a relatively active market. Our customers have understood in recent years that digitization is an inevitable path. And that it was a tremendous performance lever for their activities. All of our activities are therefore growing. But we put a particular emphasis on activities around the cloud, data and devops. We have made development on the African continent another important lever for growth. »

The winner of the Growth Strategy trophy in the VSE / SME category adds: “ After having created a subsidiary in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, we plan to open a subsidiary in Morocco and Kenya within the next 2 years. Each branch will be a regional office to cover the western, northern and eastern areas of the continent. »

Claudine Morel Le Berre Group Communications Director, explains: “ to cope with medium-term market changes, we are going to strengthen our 6 areas of expertise, supported by all of our employees.
