This Tuesday, November 14, at a general assembly, the student collective of the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté higher school decided to suspend its mobilization. For a month, they had been denouncing “serious organizational problems”.
The curtain reopens on the artistic season of the Bourgogne-France-Comté music school (ESM BFC). This Tuesday, November 14, the Mobilization ESM BFC collective decided to temporarily suspend its mobilization and resume concerts. The thirty members present voted for it during a general assembly.
As a reminder, on October 17, many students decided to withdraw from the ESM BFC artistic season, the real common thread of the school year. They denounced “serious organizational problems” which jeopardized the organization of courses and exams.
Contacted this Tuesday, the students of the collective believe that the “demands made by the mobilization have been heard and the promises of progress are consistent with what was requested“. The office of the governing association of ESM BFC announced that the interim management committee will resume its functions.
This interim management was put in place in July following the sick leave of the director of the establishment. The interim allowed the start of the school year to go smoothly in September, then the director returned to her post.
A school audit must also be carried out from the end of the week, to “estimate the educational and administrative problems to be addressed as a priority“. For the moment, no details have been given on the duration of this audit, or its weight in future decisions by the administration.
Finally, the office of the governing association has promised the arrival of an interim director by December, who will take care of the administrative part. A budgetary extension from the regional cultural affairs department should also allow other recruitments.

The next ESM BFC concert will therefore take place on Thursday November 16 in the Academy hall in Dijon. On the other hand, the collective, bringing together around a hundred students in total, is wary about the future.
“We are waiting to see what the concrete actions will be behind these promises”
the ESM BFC Mobilization collective
“Words are good, facts are better“, declares the collective to France 3 Bourgogne. They therefore reserve the right not to go on stage, in the future, if the promises made by management are not kept.
