Escuela N 321 de Jujuy Wins National Prize in Argentine Beef Contest
In a prestigious competition organized by the Argentine Beef Promotion Institute (IPCVA), Escuela N 321 in Jujuy has been awarded the First National Prize. The results were announced today at the Exposición Rural in Palermo.
The “Passion for Argentine Beef” contest, held as part of the first day of the Exposición Rural, aimed to promote research and debate on livestock production, sustainability, and the benefits of beef consumption for human health in classrooms across the country.
The national prize was awarded to Escuela N 321 “Provincia de Buenos Aires” in San Salvador de Jujuy. The students presented a video in the format of a television news report, highlighting various aspects related to beef.
Over a thousand educational institutions from all over the country showed interest in this inaugural edition of the contest. A total of 105 entries were evaluated by a jury composed of members from various organizations, including AACREA, the Argentine Braford Association, the Center of Direct Livestock Consignees, and the Argentine Feedlot Chamber. The jury selected 32 works from 17 provinces.
“The main objective was to encourage students and teachers to investigate and debate topics related to beef production and consumption. Although beef is the preferred food of almost all Argentines, there are aspects that are little known to the public and are mostly not included in the curriculum,” said Jorge Grimberg, President of IPCVA, during the announcement at the Exposición Rural.
“That is why the internal promotion committee of the Institute discussed the need to generate educational content related to livestock production, industry, sustainability, the contribution of the beef industry to the country, and nutrition. Once we developed these contents, the idea of a national contest emerged,” added Daniel Urca, Vice President of IPCVA.
The recognition received by Escuela N 321 highlights the dedication and effort of the students and teachers in exploring the multifaceted aspects of the beef industry. This achievement not only brings pride to the school but also showcases the importance of promoting knowledge and understanding of the beef sector among the younger generation.
The “Passion for Argentine Beef” contest has successfully sparked interest and engagement among students and educators, contributing to a deeper appreciation of the country’s rich beef heritage and the vital role it plays in the nation’s economy and nutrition.
