Escaped Inmate Michael Charles Burham: Authorities on High Alert in Pennsylvania for Dangerous Fugitive

He escaped from prison and is described as “dangerous”. Authorities in the US state of Pennsylvania have been searching for Michael Charles Burham, an escaped inmate from Warren County Jail since Friday, a spokeswoman said at a press conference.

Incarcerated for arson and burglary, he is also the main suspect in a murder case. During his run, he may have stolen a car and attempted to kidnap a couple in order to hijack their vehicle. The city of Warren police published a wanted notice on Friday evening. “It is considered very dangerous, and the public is invited to be vigilant and to report anything out of the ordinary”, assure the police.

Search operations throughout the upstate

Michael C. Burham was last seen at the Warren County Jail on Thursday night, where he wore an orange and white striped jumpsuit, denim jacket and orange Crocs shoes, the wanted poster details.

According to the authorities, the man could be determined in his escape: “We have no indication that he is being helped by anyone at this stage, but he knows the area. He’s a survivalist, and he’s got survival skills,” county spokeswoman Cecile Stelter said. Authorities at the prison from which Michael C. Burham escaped declined to comment.

Excavations are increasing in the north of the United States, many vehicles and drones are deployed. “All our teams are mobilized to find him and keep the population safe,” insisted Cecile Stelter when speaking, calling on residents not to confront him “in any way whatsoever”.

They are thus asked to contact the police for any suspicious behavior and traders are encouraged to consult their CCTV images, in order to check if they allow the location of Michael C. Burham.
