TRIBUNNEWS.COM, SINGAPORE – Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa caught on camera shopping at Singapore hours after fleeing his country.
From the photo circulating, it is suspected that Rajapaksa was shopping at Changi airport Singapore.
Quoted from India TodaySaturday (16/7/2022), a passenger at the international airport got a photo of Rajapaksa shopping at a clothing store.
He was accompanied by his wife was choosing clothes.
Gotabaya Rajapaksa fled his country after his house was surrounded by mobs protesting the country’s worsening economic crisis.
Initially he fled to the Maldives but did not feel at home because a number of expatriates from Sri Lanka protested there.
He then fled to Singapore as their last stopover.
Yesterday Rajapaksa sent a letter of resignation as President of Sri Lanka to parliament.
