Escape From Tarkov Developer Battlestate Games Faces Backlash Over Controversial “Unheard Edition” DLC Pack

(PressFire.no): “Escape From Tarkov” developer Battlestate Games is in trouble after releasing a hogwash add-on pack for the game called “The Unheard Edition”.

The package costs a whopping 250 dollars (around NOK 2,800) and includes, among other things, a so-called PvE mode that is locked only to those who have the package.

There has also been criticism that the package is called “pay to win”, as it allows people to start with better weapons, have more room for weapons and equipment – as well as providing higher skill levels and equipment at the start.

Already unreasonable, but worse, the company previously released another DLC pack, “Edge of Darkness”, which was a more serious version of the game that promised customers access to “its all future DLC packs”.

Free access to all upcoming DLC. In theory.

However, none of those who spent $140 on “The Unheard Edition” and received the new mode.

Instead, players who own this version will have to shell out an extra $100 to “upgrade” to the “Unheard” package.

Fans believe that the new pack is a DLC pack as it contains a brand new mode, but the developers say that “The Unheard Edition”, is nothing but unique content for a new version of the game.

Community manager “appl3x0r” explains on the game’s official Discord channel.

It has made fans see red, and many believe that the company has lied to its customers. In social media, it has almost gone into criticism of the company, with several saying they will boycott the game.

It also hasn’t helped that Battlestate Games has taken to Twitter to sulk about the competition in the market.

Jokingly, the upcoming game wrote that they are accepting “homeless shooters” to beta test their game.

Battlestate quickly responded:

– Have a good twenty minutes in the obvious plagiarism game. In and out.

The developers have since taken to Reddit and said that they will throw some hooks at those who issued for the previous “Edge of Darkness” pack – and get access to on too PvE-the method.

But only for six months, according to a Reddit post. Unexpectedly, this has also led to more anger among fans.
