Ralph Siegel had planned to attend Oktoberfest, but now he has to undergo chemotherapy again.
Munich – The legendary Oktoberfest in Munich starts again. For 14 days people sway, drink beer and eat Kaiserschmarrn in the Bavarian capital. Of course, the country’s A to Z celebrities don’t miss this either. But one person is missing: Ralph Siegel (78). His wife Laura now reveals the sad reason.
Worries about ESC legend Ralph Siegel: The cancer is back
As a native of Munich, Ralph Siegel is actually a regular guest at Oktoberfest. This year, however, the ESC legend has to sit out. The reason? The cancer has returned for the fourth time, this time the metastases have formed in the thoracic vertebra. This is now revealed by his wife Laura, who is organizing this year’s “Ladies Red Wiesn” – a charity for sick children.

“He is in unbelievable pain, especially because the thoracic vertebra has broken due to the metastasis,” reveals Laura Siegel. It’s not easy for him right now, but he’s incredibly brave, as she continues. But he is currently too weak for even a short visit to the Oktoberfest.

But the two remain optimistic. “We are in the best hands, with the best doctors. But of course Ralph wants to get back into the studio as quickly as possible,” reveals Laura Siegel. Until his broken thoracic vertebra grows back together, he has to lie down and rest a lot. Ralph Siegel endures the chemotherapy bravely, says his wife and explains: “He’s always tired afterwards, but that’s normal.” The two of them want to celebrate his 80th birthday again next year in a big way at the Oktoberfest.
