ESA releases panoramic images of the universe, revealing details of stars and galaxies

The European Space Agency (ESA) has released a 208 billion pixel wide image of the universe from the Euclid Space Telescope, showing details of more than 100 million stars and galaxies.

The images were compiled from more than 260 studies in the visible and infrared wavelengths. Between March 25 – April 8, with a set of images from the Euclid camera released this time. It takes up 500 times more space than the full moon in the sky.

Jason Rhodes, a cosmologist at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, said: “We’ve seen beautiful, sharp images of objects from the Euclid telescope that give us an insight into the vastness of the sky that the telescope surveys. so we can precisely measure the billions of galaxies.”
