Because of Parkinson’s disease, Smid suffered from severe tremors and had difficulty speaking. He has a lot less trouble with the condition due to brain surgery.
After his rehabilitation, Smid took singing lessons and sang with his daughter Coosje. “I even dared to dream of a grand concert again and that wish is now being fulfilled,” says the singer. “I am a happy man.”
During the concert, Smid sings well-known songs by artists such as Ramses Shaffy and Frank Sinatra. He is accompanied by the Dutch Event Choir and the 35-piece orchestra The New Symphonics.
He also performs musical and film music. Also among others are daughter Coosje and The voice of Hollandwinner Pleun Bierbooms will participate in the concert. Ticket sales for the shows start Friday.
