Real Madrid is not giving up, Erling Haaland remains the Spanish record champion’s great wish. The sporting management sees him as the perfect replacement for Karim Benzema.
Real Madrid wanted to hire Erling Haaland last summer, but had to admit defeat to Manchester City in the bidding war. With a delay of two years, the superstar should find its way to the Concha Espina.
According to Telefoot, Blancos continue to pursue their Haaland dream, which should follow the great Karim Benzema after the end of the coming season, i.e. in 2024. The French medium does not give any further details, but courting the Norwegian is the logical consequence.
At only 22 years old, Haaland is still at the beginning of his career, but has long been one of the best in the world in his position. In the weekend’s 3-1 win against Leicester City, Haaland tied a brace and set another record.

Haaland breaks Mo Salah’s record
Haaland equaled Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah’s goal record of 32 goals in the 2017/18 season. So Haaland has eight games left to set a new record, which will probably last forever given his form.
And Benzema? One notices the advanced age, the physical complaints are increasing. He should extend his contract, which expires at the end of the season, by another year, after which it will most likely be over for him in Madrid. If it’s up to Real, Haaland will take over Benzema’s duties.
