Erling Haaland Named Player of the Year, Saka and Daly Earn Honors in Professional Players Association Awards

Manchester City striker Erling Haaland, the Premier League champion, won the Player of the Year award from the Professional Players Association, on Tuesday.

The 23-year-old got more votes than his colleagues Kevin De Bruyne and John Stones, as well as Arsenal players Martin Odegaard, Bucayo Saka and former Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane, who is now playing for Bayern Munich.

Haaland capped his amazing season by scoring 52 goals in 53 games in all competitions last season, which helped City win the league titles, the FA Cup and the Champions League.

Saka won the Young Player of the Year award for the first time, after being nominated for the award for the fourth consecutive season.

Aston Villa striker Rachel Daly also won the award for the best player in the English Women’s League, after being named the tournament’s top scorer with 22 goals.

Lauren James of Chelsea won the Young Player of the Year award.
