Eriksen: “I would love to play in the Champions League again”

Christian Eriksen confessed that he “would love to play Champions League football again”, while discussing a possible return to Tottenham and a move to Manchester United.

The Dane relaunched his career this year with Brentford, after having decompensated in a match at the European Championship last June with his country’s team and being revived in the middle of the field of play.

The 30-year-old player could not continue as a player for Inter and Milan, since the rules in Italy prevent footballers from playing with a defibrillator, so he began a path of preparation until he was endorsed to play again in the English league.

With a goal, 4 assists and 26 chances created in 10 Premier League games, the Middelfart native hopes to grow further in this kind of renaissance.

“I don’t think there are players who can choose between clubs, because there are a lot of criteria that come into play,” Eriksen told Viaplay. “There are also many clubs that need to see the path of a footballer before that (the hiring) happens,” he added.

“I have different offers and options, which we are considering, and then we will make a decision. I would love to play Champions League football again. I know how much fun it is, but it is not essential for me, “the Danish man was honest.

Eriksen’s mid-season influence ensured that Brentford secured their status as a First Division team going into the next campaign. While in the fight to enter the 2022/23 UCL, Spurs (5th place) will go into the final matchday one point behind Arsenal (4th) should the Gunners overtake Newcastle United on Monday.

The Dane had the opportunity to play in the Champions League from the start with Ajax and even participated in the 2018/19 campaign, in which Tottenham reached the final before falling to Liverpool. He also marked presence in that appointment with the shirt of Inter.
