Earlier today, the GEMS chairman had called for not to resolve all measures. “I am pleased that a number of measures have been retained. It is also good that extra caution is being shown in Brussels.” Vlieghe has faith in the sense of responsibility of the Belgians. “I think people will remain cautious on their own. It remains to be seen how the numbers will evolve now.” The infectiologist recognizes the impact of the vaccination campaign, but warns that it is not yet complete. “Prime Minister De Croo is right when he says that the vaccinations are a game changer. But at the moment we must continue to focus on vaccinating even more people. Hopefully the protection will last after that.” (Belgium)
