Manchester United considered the results of talks with Ten Hag to be very positive so they did not hesitate to offer him a three-year contract.
“Over the past four years at Ajax, Erik has established himself as one of Europe’s most exciting and successful coaches, renowned for his attacking football and his team’s commitment to young players,” Murtough said when the news was announced.
“In our conversations with Erik ahead of this appointment, we were very impressed with his long-term vision to return Manchester United to the level we want to compete at, as well as his drive and determination to achieve this.”
