Ericsson and Apple sign multi-year worldwide patent licensing agreement

(AOF) – Ericsson and Apple have entered into a multi-year worldwide patent licensing agreement. The deal includes cross-licensing of key patented cellular technologies. In addition, Ericsson and Apple have mutually agreed to strengthen their technological and commercial collaboration, including on technology, interoperability and standards development. This agreement ends the legal proceedings initiated by the two companies in several countries.

Christina Petersson, Chief Intellectual Property Officer at Ericsson, said: “We are pleased to resolve our disputes with Apple with this agreement, which is of strategic importance to our 5G licensing program. This will allow both companies to continue to focus on supply of the best technology on the world market”.
