SOE Minister Erick Thohir opened up the business development plan of PT Telkom Indonesia. He said that Telkom would share the business with its subsidiary, Telkomsel.
Telkom as the parent company will take care of business to business affairs. Starting from data center matters to telecommunications infrastructure.
“That’s why yesterday I had a meeting with Telkom and Telkomsel. So, Telkom will focus on b to b affairs, meaning that Telkom will focus on data centers, telecommunications infrastructure such as cable networks and others,” said Erick in Wealth Wisdom 2021, Friday (17 /9/2021).
Now, Telkomsel will take care of all service matters to consumers. This is considered to be able to make Telkom’s competitiveness better.
“Telkomsel, later he will focus on consumer affairs. Why is that? Because we want to create competitiveness as a nation,” said Erick.
Erick also said that there would be a business transformation carried out by one of the state-owned companies. The company is PFN, aka the State Film Company.
This company will become a film financing company, no longer producing films. According to him, this has been done in various countries, South Korea for example.
“PFN is also significant, this will become a film financing institution. We want to build an ecosystem so that our industry and economy grow,” said Erick.
