Erick Thohir wants Pertashop to be the basis for strengthening the economy of the people

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Head of the Syariah Economic Society (MES) Erick Thohir inaugurate Pertashop for Islamic boarding schools in Surusunda Village, Karangpucung District, Cilacap Regency.

In his speech, the man who is also Minister BUMN that said, Pertashop is a partnership means of Pertamina which aims to help improve community welfare.

“Pertashop is part of BUMN in strengthening the community’s economy, such as the Nurul Qur’an Karangpetir Islamic Boarding School,” said Erick Thohir in his written statement, Sunday (11/4/2021).

The former Inter Milan boss assessed that what was done between Pertashop and Pondok Pesantreb Nurul Qur’an Karang Petir was in accordance with the 4 Pillars of the Sharia Economic Community which focuses on developing the halal industry market at home and abroad, developing the national Islamic finance industry, friendly investment that involves entrepreneurs in the area and the development of the sharia economy from the countryside (and pesantren) in a sustainable manner.

Pertamina’s Pertashop partnership program with Islamic boarding schools is a new innovation. Not only fostering economic independence for Islamic boarding schools, the presence of Pertashop can also improve the welfare of rural communities in the Cilacap Regency area according to regional development policies, namely ‘Proud to Build a Village’.

“This is a pilot project, to get to 1,000 Islamic boarding schools with 1,000 businesses. So that the pesantren can be financially independent and strengthen the economy of the people and the surrounding community, “said Erick.

On the other hand, the existence of a Pertashop in Surusunda Village helps facilitate access to BBM for the community, especially at an affordable price. As is well known, many areas are far from gas stations, so people often get higher fuel prices.

“As Ministers, we at the Ministry of BUMN and also Pertamina, will continue to support the community’s economic independence program through partnership programs or other programs,” said Erick Thohir.

Pertashop itself is a small-scale Pertamina distributor that is prepared to serve the needs of consumers of non-subsidized fuel, non-subsidized LPG and other Pertamina retail products that are not or have not been served by other Pertamina distributors.
