Minister of SOEs Erick Thohir said that public services are carried out by SOEs. This is what Erick Thohir emphasized as the difference between BUMN and the private sector.
For example, the differences range from various social assistance involving related SOEs to subsidies for fuel oil (BBM).
“Our PLN outlines 450 watts of electricity. Today if you buy Pertamax. If you buy it at Shell, it’s Rp. 12 thousand, if you buy it at Pertamina, it is Rp. 9 thousand. This means that there is a subsidy. That is what distinguishes us from the private sector. When masks are expensive, Rp. 200 thousand, Kimia Farma sells them IDR 5 thousand silver. That’s what we have to map out,” said Erick Thohir in a seminar at UINSA Surabaya, Saturday (11/12/2021).
Then, state-owned banks were assigned to be part of distributing social assistance. Not only that, Erick Thohir said there are also those who are encouraged to help the community to get capital.
“We are consolidating BRI again with PNM and pawnshops. PNM is ultra micro financing for women, loans of Rp. 1 million to Rp. 4 million. If the pawnshop is fast money, it can borrow up to Rp. 20-Rp 50 million more. become its own strength, its own locomotive,” he said.
Then, the government has improved public services, one of which is rail transportation. This is done so that public services can continue to run, even though they are affected by the pandemic.
“Trains for COVID-19 passengers are only 15% if we are big corporations, so stop. Maybe ha? You don’t have to run. Look at the trains now, they are nice, clean. Because we support the President Director, don’t think you want to be the President Director of Bank Mandiri,” he said.
“Leaders in SOEs should also not be jealous, ‘ah why be the President Director of the Railways, so the President Director of Bank Mandiri, the luck is big. But what does it mean to be compensated, if A gets 100, he gets 100 with a different assessment,” he concluded
