Minister of SOEs Erick Thohir said that the performance of all SOEs was much better in Semester I/2021 compared to Semester I/2020. This is shown by the increase in net profit in Semester I/2021 reaching 356 percent compared to Semester I/2020.
Erick said that the overall financial performance of the portfolio of all SOEs improved significantly in the first half of 2021 when compared to the same period last year.
“Performance in Semester I/2021 increased by 356 percent compared to Semester I/2020. In fact, it is greater than the performance in 2020,” said Erick Thohir in an official statement, Saturday (16/10).
Meanwhile, BUMN revenues in the first half of this year are said to have increased by Rp. 96.5 trillion, compared to the same period in 2020.
In his report, Erick stated that the net profit in Semester I/2020 was IDR5.77 trillion. After the 2020 audit, net profit is known to be Rp. 13.29 trillion. In the first half of this year, net profit was much higher at Rp26.35 trillion.
He stated that the increase in sales in 2021 was mainly supported by the energy, finance and mining sectors.
“This further resulted in a significant improvement in performance net profit consolidation which increased by almost 3.6 times the consolidated net profit un-audited to Rp26 trillion,” he said.
However, he did not deny the possibility that the Covid-19 lockdown in the middle of this year will have an impact on the overall performance of 2021. Erick said that SOEs will continue to maintain positive performance until the end of 2021.
Previously, President Joko Widodo mentioned that the Ministry of SOEs was too often given State Equity Participation (PMN). Jokowi does not want the protection of the state-owned companies to be continuously given.
“In the past, SOEs and SOEs were protected too often. It hurts to add PMN. It hurts, PMN injections. Sorry, it’s too good,” he said.
