BANDUNG, KOMPAS.com – Indonesia is currently developing a Covid-19 vaccine, both the Red and White vaccine and the vaccine in collaboration with a number of countries, one of which is China.
If this vaccine is successfully tested and produced, there will be two schemes for injecting vaccines to the public.
“There are government-assisted vaccines, as well as independent vaccines,” said the Chief Executive of the Committee for Handling Covid-19 and National Economic Recovery (KPCPEN). Erick Thohir in the scientific oration of the Padjadjaran University Anniversary which was delivered virtually, Friday (11/9/2020).

Erick explained that the government-assisted vaccine is intended for a mass vaccination program.
The source of funding comes from the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN).
The independent vaccine is aimed at people who can afford it, so it doesn’t need to be subsidized by the government.
“We knocked the hearts of (wealthy people) to help the government by paying it ourselves,” said Erick.

Erick said, from the results of his chats with several employers’ organizations and others, they were committed to paying themselves.
In fact, for their employee vaccine needs, these entrepreneurs will prepare their own budget to reduce the burden on the government.
This is because government revenue has also decreased, including tax revenue, which has decreased by 12 percent.
“For this mass vaccination, as many as 1.5 million doctors, nurses and midwives in Indonesia are ready to help,” said Erick.
Erick said, for the Sinovac vaccine, Indonesia will receive an additional 20 million doses at the end of the year.
Then, in 2021 there will be an additional 250 million doses.
