Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – SOE Minister Erick Thohir today, Thursday (6/1/2022) decided to remove the Primary Energy Director of PT PLN (Persero) Rudy Hendra Prastowo.
Rudy Hendra Prastowo was replaced by the Director of PLN for Coal, Hartanto Wibowo.
As is known, the Director of Primary Energy of PLN handles the issue of energy supply for PLN’s power plants, both coal stock and coal stock Liquifed Natural Gas (LNG).
“Of course I will sign the replacement of PLN’s Primary Energy Director with Hartanto Wibowo, who is a top talent at PLN,” explained Erick at the Ministry of BUMN Office, Thursday (6/1/2022).
As is known, 10 million PLN electricity customers almost experienced blackouts, because the 20 PLN power plants did not get a supply of coal.
In fact, said Erick, Indonesia is a country that produces large natural resources (SDA), including coal and gas. So when viewed from the composition of the use for electricity it should be safer.
“Many countries do not have natural resources. But we do, but the energy crisis means that we have to fix something together,” explained Erick
With the replacement of Rudy Hendra Prastowo with Hartanto Wibowo, Erick said, there will be improvements in the primary energy revenue sector belonging to PLN.
“There are several things that need to be improved, how can the purchase of coal be long term, because there is already a DMO whose price is set at US$ 70 per tonne, so there is no need to be afraid,” explained Erick.
Currently, due to the scarcity of coal to PLN’s power plants, the government has decided to prohibit all coal mining export activities, including IUP, IUPK and PKP2B.
