Eric Joël Békalé’s entry into government celebrated in the 6th arrondissement – AGP

Libreville, May 21, 2023 (AGP) – The appointment of Éric Joël Békalé, one of them in the government as Minister Delegate for Transport and the achievements of development projects in this part of the capital, were the subject on Saturday last, a ceremony of thanks to the Head of State, organized by the populations of the sixth arrondissement.

It is the site called “Wembley”, located in the Nzeng-Ayong district in the sixth arrondissement of Libreville, which served as the setting for the ceremony. The populations have justified these thanks by the fact that since 1996, the year of creation of the sixth district of Libreville, it is the first time that a son of this part of Libreville has been appointed to the government.

The populations also noted the development of the district following the numerous achievements made by the State. Making this locality one of the places that makes Libreville a booming city.

Achievements for the benefit of young people in the field of Education and sport, such as the PK7 sports platform, investments in the borough which embellish this part of the city, the will of the President of the Republic to raise the sixth district in the decision-making sphere, the establishment of a reception structure for the benefit of women victims of violence within the framework of the Gabon Equality program, the transformation of the health structure which will soon have a medical center equipped with all the capacities , roads, construction of school complexes, development of watersheds and many others.

All these elements were respectively recalled in the various motions of support pronounced by the local authorities, the notables, the women and the young people towards the Head of State.

“By this gesture we understand that the Head of State has not forgotten us because it has been a long time that one of their sons has been waiting for him to be able to sit on the table of the grown-ups. We can affirm that our agglomeration has known which can only dispute those who refuse to see. For this, I think that the inhabitants of the 6th arrondissement must return the favor to the President of the Republic in due time”, declared the Mayor of the arrondissement, Wilfried Issiembi.

“We, notables of the sixth arrondissement of Libreville very respectfully address our sincere and deferential thanks to the President of the Republic, Head of State, His Excellency Ali Bongo Ondimba and ask him to kindly accept our gratitude for the trust he comes place to our son. For this, we reassure him that the notables will always be with him in his quest for progress for Gabon”, said the representative of the notables, Elie Nkoulou.

The Minister Delegate for Transport, Eric Joël Bekalé, welcomed by the people.

In response, the member of the government did not fail to express his gratitude to the President of the Republic and to the Prime Minister for his appointment. Not without recalling one of the objectives of this appointment.

“Being appointed to government is not an end in itself. I’m definitely here on a mission. A mission that concerns you. I will do everything in my power to give this borough a better destiny,” he said. Not without calling on the people to enlist massively to make their voices heard on voting day.

A diplomat by training, Eric Joël Békalé is also a writer. He is a political member of the National Council of the Gabonese Democratic Party, since the ordinary congress of this political formation held in 2013.
