Eric Clapton announces concert in Mexico City; Foro Sol is preparing to welcome the guitarist on October 3, 2024. Fans of the legendary artist will have the opportunity to purchase tickets during the exclusive pre-sale for Citibanamex cardholders starting January 31, and on general sale starting January 1 February.

The concert promises to be a musical celebration, in which Clapton will share the stage with six-string specialist Gary Clark Jr. Rock fans can expect a mix of classics and new interpretations in an evening that promises to be unforgettable.

This will not be the first time that Clapton sets foot on Mexican soil, since in 2001 he delighted the public with the Reptile World Tour, receiving rave reviews for his extraordinary performance.

Tickets for this new presentation will be available starting Wednesday, January 31 at 2:00 PM in an exclusive pre-sale for Citibanamex cardholders, through Ticketmaster. The general sale will open on Thursday, February 1 at 2:00 PM, both at the Foro Sol box office and on the Ticketmaster platform.

The iconic British rock and blues guitarist, singer and songwriter, Eric Patrick Clapton, was born on March 30, 1945 in Ripley, Surrey, England. Known for his virtuosity with the electric guitar, especially with his Stratocaster.

Nicknamed “Slowhand” since his days in The Yardbirds and “God” during his time with Cream, he is a three-time member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame: as part of The Yardbirds, Cream and for his outstanding career as a soloist. His impact on mass culture has established him as one of the most respected and influential artists of all time, according to many critics.

On Rolling Stone magazine’s list of “The 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time,” he occupies an impressive second place. In addition, she is in position number 55 of “Immortals: the 100 greatest artists of all time.”

His musical prowess is also reflected in Guitar World’s 2005 rankings, where five of his songs were recognized among the greatest guitar solos of all time.

Among his biggest hits are memorable songs like “Layla” from his time with Derek and the Dominos, “Sunshine of Your Love” with Cream, “Tears in Heaven” dedicated to his deceased son Conor (composed with Will Jennings) and “ For Your Love” with The Yardbirds, which marked his first big hit.
