Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan welcomed on Saturday that the International Criminal Court issued two arrest warrants against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Galant, considering it as ” confident conclusion”.
Erdogan said in a speech in Istanbul, “We support the arrest warrant. We believe it is important to implement this courageous decision by all the countries that are involved in the agreement (Treaty of Rome) with the goal of human confidence in the system between -national update. “
On Thursday, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Netanyahu, Galant, and Muhammad al-Deif, the head of the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of the Hamas movement.
The court, headquartered in The Hague, said, “The Chamber issued arrest warrants against Benjamin Netanyahu and Yoav Gallant in the cases of crimes against humanity and war crimes committed between October 8, 2023 and at least May 20, 2024, the date on which prosecutors filed requests to issue arrest warrants. ” was sent out against the host as well.

Türkiye withdrew its ambassador to Israel for consultations after the Gaza war began, but has not officially severed relations with it, and its embassy remains open and functional.
