Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan confirmed on Saturday that “his country will inevitably complete the security strip it is building on its southern borders”.
In a speech delivered during his attendance at the opening ceremony of a cluster of development projects in Sanliurfa state, Erdogan said, “We will finally complete the 30-kilometre-deep security strip that we are building on our southern borders.”
He stressed that the attacks launched by Kurdish forces and “the parties that control them” against Turkish forces and innocent civilians, “will not be able to dissuade Turkey from achieving this goal”.
Erdogan had previously confirmed “the continuation of military operations in northern Syria and Iraq Until all terrorist organizations are eliminated.It is no longer acceptable for some Western countries to provide support to terrorist organizations”, stressing that “Turkey does not target anyone because of their race or religion.
