Recep Tayyip Erdogan said today, March 8, that the upcoming local elections on March 31 will be the last elections for him, according to what the country’s law provides.
Speaking in Istanbul to the youth of the Turkish Youth Foundation (TUGVA), which is close to the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP), the Turkish president said:
“This for me is an end, this election is my last under the authority given by law. The result will be the transfer of a trust for my brothers who will come after me.’
“The Israeli government is a murderer”
From the stage of the same event, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan aimed his arrows at Israel and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu personally, saying that “even being mentioned next to the Netanyahu government is in itself a heavy punishment, a shame. Because the Israeli government led by Netanyahu is a murderer.”
“Today’s representative of Nazi thought – which yesterday aimed to exterminate many groups, especially Jews, with the claim of superior race – is the Israeli government. This mentality, which recognizes no one but itself as human, will not hesitate to commit worse atrocities on people of other nationalities and beliefs than it inflicted on the Palestinians, when given the chance tomorrow. The Israeli government led by Netanyahu is a threat,” he added.
Furthermore, the Turkish president once again publicly supported Hamas: “I say clearly and unequivocally that Hamas is definitely not an organization as they claim. Rather, it is a resistance movement that defends its homeland and land at the cost of their lives. It is this feature of Hamas that really bothers its critics. We don’t pay attention to them, we don’t count them and we don’t reward them in any way.”
