In a telephone conversation with Head of State Rumen Radev, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed his appreciation for Bulgaria’s support in the rescue operations after the two extremely strong earthquakes in Turkey. President Erdoğan emphasized the quick reaction of Bulgaria, which was the first country from the European Union to send rescue teams to the affected settlements, the press office of the head of state announced.
With the support of the Bulgarian institutions, hundreds of volunteers from our country joined the search and rescue efforts for the victims of the earthquakes in our south-eastern neighbor. Head of State Rumen Radev emphasized the empathy and solidarity of Bulgaria in this difficult moment for Turkey. The head of state also expressed the readiness of our country to continue to provide support for the faster overcoming of the consequences of the earthquakes, so that no time is wasted regarding the identified perspectives in bilateral relations.
