Turkey hosted the inauguration of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The politician took the oath to the people of the country.
Re-elected President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Saturday, June 3, took the oath in the General Assembly of the Grand National Assembly. It is reported by Anadolu.
Upon arrival at the parliament, Erdogan was congratulated by the interim speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly Devlet Bahceli. After that, the latter handed over to the head of state a document certifying victory in the presidential elections.
President Erdogan took the oath after receiving his mandate from Bahceli.
Among the participants of the inauguration ceremony are representatives of 78 countries of the world, including more than 20 heads of state and government.
After the inauguration ceremony, Erdogan will lay a wreath at the Mausoleum of the founder of the Republic of Turkey, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk.
The program of ceremonial events will continue at the presidential complex, where Erdogan will receive a greeting. After that, the Turkish leader will go to the residence of Cankaya, where an official dinner will be given in honor of high-ranking guests.
The last point of the measures will be a briefing where the re-elected President of Turkey will announce the composition of the new government of the country.
Recall, on May 28, the second round of the presidential elections in Turkey was held. Incumbent President Recep Tayyip Erdogan won with 52.16% of the vote. 47.9% of voters voted for opposition candidate Kemal Kilicdaroglu.
