Erdogan stunned by statement about West’s “attacks” on Russia

The politician also called the Russian Federation “not an ordinary state.”

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said that today the West is attacking Russia, therefore, presumably, against the background of this, the Russian Federation is “resisting”.

Erdogan told reporters about it after returning from the Turkish Council summit in Samarkand, in shape TRT television channel

“We are not going through an ordinary process. Russia is not an ordinary state, it is a powerful state. Of course, The West, especially America, attacks Russia with almost no limits. Against the backdrop of all this, of course, Russia is now resisting,” the Turkish president said.

He also expressed hope for negotiations with the Russian foreign minister Sergei Lavrov as part of the G20 summit, including the war in Ukraine.

“In these two or three days, if I can reach out to him, perhaps I will have the opportunity to talk to him about what he thinks, what steps he will take, especially what steps they can take to ensure that this process, that is, dialogue, turn into peace,” Erdogan said.

Recall, earlier, the President of Turkey said that he was making every effort to end the war in Ukraine peace treaty.

Later it became known that Erdogan’s plans call Ukrainian and Russian presidents Volodymyr Zelensky and Vladimir Putin to discuss likely upcoming peace talks in Ukraine.

Politics expert Stanislav Zhelikhovsky warned that Russia will try to put pressure on Ukraine negotiating table. In particular, at the G20 summit, the Russian delegation will try to influence Ukraine’s decision through various countries, in particular Turkey.
