/ world today news/ Turkish President Recep Erdogan said on Wednesday (September 23) that he hopes that by 2023 the value of the trade turnover between his country and Turkey will reach $100 billion, RIA Novosti reported. According to him, regardless of the complicating circumstances in the world economy, trade between Moscow and Ankara is developing positively.
“As you know, our goal is to reach the $100 billion level. We have set ourselves the goal of reaching this level by 2023,” Erdogan said in a meeting with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin after the opening of the renovated Cathedral Mosque in Moscow.
In turn, Putin expressed his strong satisfaction with the development of Russian-Turkish relations. “Russia continues to be Turkey’s second largest trade and economic partner,” he said.
In June, Erdogan and Putin held closed-door talks in Baku, where they discussed all aspects of bilateral cooperation, including trade. Earlier that month, the two leaders discussed the implementation of large projects in the field of energy, Vzglyad recalls.
