“President Erdogan said calls for peace and talks should be backed up by a unilateral ceasefire and a vision for a just solution,” Erdogan’s office said.
Erdogan should also have a conversation with Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelensky.
Given Turkey’s good relations with both Russia and Ukraine, the president has repeatedly offered to mediate for a ceasefire in Ukraine.
Turkey has helped broker a deal on grain exports from Ukraine, and Erdogan has been trying to hold a summit between Russian and Ukrainian leaders in Turkey.
