Erdoan slams Biden, accuses Western countries of exacerbating Russia-Ukraine crisis

President Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, accusing Western countries of only making the Russia-Ukraine crisis ‘worse’. Erdoan denounces President’s attitude United States of America (AS), Joe Biden, in dealing with the crisis.

As reported AFP, Friday (4/2/2022), Erdogan’s accusation was conveyed on his way home from a visit to Kiev, Ukraine, on Thursday (3/2) local time and published by local media on Friday (4/2) local time.

Erdoan made the comments as he tried to arrange a meeting between Russia and Ukraine to ease concerns about President Vladimir Putin suspected of preparing to invade Ukraine.

It is known that Erdogan is trying to position Turkey, which is a member of the NATO alliance, as a neutral mediator close to Russia and Ukraine.

In interviews with Turkish journalists on board, Erdogan made some of his strongest criticisms of the position of Europe and the US on the crisis.

“Unfortunately, the West has so far not made any contribution to solving this problem. I can say that they are only making the situation worse,” Erdogan said.

Erdogan also noted that Biden “has not been able to show a positive approach”.
